Aimee Jones
Chef/Food Services Manager
Chef Aimee Jones was born and raised in Portland, OR and attended Le Cordon Bleu accredited Western Culinary Institute, where she earned her Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts. She then took a year to travel the U.S. as a restaurant trainer. During this time she fell in love with Charleston and decided to settle down here. The fact that it didn’t rain everyday for nine months of the year was also appealing.
Aimee began working in the Charleston area at the club at Seabrook Island. While there, she quickly worked her way up to Sous Chef and gained a love for Southern cuisine, something that makes all of us here very happy. It was also where she met and fell in love with her husband, Darrell. From there, Aimee gained experience as a Sous Chef at the Vendue Inn, Long Point Grill, and the Village Bakery.
When Aimee became a mom, it became increasingly difficult working in the restaurant business with the long and unpredictable hours. She began looking for a position that was more conducive to a quality life style for herself and her family. Fortunately, she landed a position at The Children’s Center and quickly became the “Star of the Show.” Aimee was now able to use her excellent culinary skills to create healthy meals from scratch, teach cooking classes to the preschoolers, and expand her wonderful cake decorating capabilities. Her birthday cakes and take-home meals were extremely popular. The kids (and parents) absolutely loved Chef Aimee! Hearing how popular she was while at The Children’s Center, our first mission was to hire Chef Aimee and bring her on to our team at Carolina Park Academy. Nutrition is an important part of our mission here and to have someone so skilled and like-minded is extremely important to us.
